Bolivia
Bolivia is the poorest country in South America and also one of the only countries on the continent without coast lines. Half of Bolivia is covered by Amazonas and the other half is marked by the Andes. When we arrived at Bolivia we were all travelled out, so we didn’t spend much time in the country. We took a three-day-jeep-tour starting from the northern Chile crossing the beautiful area around Salar de Uyuni. Afterwards we had a short visit to the hectic capitol of La Paz (not as peaceful as the name suggests) and a visit to the touristy lake of Lago Titicaca, both in Bolivia and Peru.
The poverty in Bolivia was very touching and the same goes for the country’s nature. The prices were pathetically low and we promised ourselves not to bargain while travelling within Bolivia.
I think Bolivia has a lot to offer and I hope to come back again some time
La Paz
Salar de Uyuni
Lago Titicaca
- and much more, but I only stayed a short time in Bolivia!
Save one day in a jeep and start the Uyuni trip from San Pedro de Atacamas in Chile!
Don't spend too much time at the Titicaca lake - it is very turisty!
DON'T BARGAIN - it is cheap enough already!
Watch your belongings!
